Bangkok is a city certainly well known for its high quality budget hotels with excellent affordable rates. But after the recent government protests which as ceased for now – hotels in Bangkok whether budget or luxury have begun to drastically reduce room rates even more. As a result now is the best time to find hotel deals especially for hotels in the budget range.There is definitely no shortage of hotels in Bangkok. Whether you are on a budget or can afford to splurge, consider staying at one of Bangkok’s many new boutique hotels opening up everywhere overnight.

Just what is a boutique hotel in Bangkok exactly?

A hotel in the boutique class are small though the rooms are quite spacious. Most of these hotels have fewer than 20 rooms, though there are a few with at least 50. But the distinguishing factor between a boutique hotel and a mainstream hotel is the emphasis on hospitality. Since boutique hotels are smaller in stature guests can expect to feel more personal service. Though don’t expect to be pampered as if you are in a 5 star luxury hotel.

Many of these hotels are operated and run solely by Thais. So the room rates are very affordable and are considered in the budget range. And since most of the boutique hotels in Bangkok have just opened recently the property itself is in excellent conditions.

You can find many boutique hotels in central Bangkok such as:

    * Bedrooms Boutique Hotel
* Sacha’s Hotel Uno
* Paradiso Boutique Suites

All of the hotels mentioned above are near a BTS Sky Train station so that most of the major shopping destinations and attractions can be reached easily and quickly.

And if central Bangkok is too hectic and noisy for you then head up just a little bit towards the northeast to Khao San Road.

This quiet little neck of the woods is not far from central Bangkok. Though Khao San road is a popular backpacker’s den in the recent years many hotels have sprouted up:

    * Navalai River Resort
* Boonsiri Inn
* Buddy Lodge

Finally, which ever hotel you are planning to stay in here is one really good money-saving tip. It is best to reserve your room through a licensed hotel booking agency that is based in Bangkok. Such agencies are in a better position of acquiring better discounted room rates since they are contracted as wholesalers with hotels throughout Bangkok, so you can expect to receive 20% to 40% off.

Praya Palazzo is a stylish 17-room mansion with a rich historical background that offers a unique experience for the discerning travelers. Dating back to the ancient kingdom of Siam, the mansion is situated in the heart of Bangkok on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, one of the most significant rivers in Thailand. Ideal for travelers who want to relax while enjoying city life in the oldest part of Bangkok, Praya Palazzo is in walking distance to many historical sites and attractions such as The Grand Palace, The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), Chinatown, The National Museum, and Kao San Road just to name a few. Praya Palazzo brings back the sense and lifestyle of the King Rama V period, conveying authentic Thai culture through vision, taste, scent, rhyme and touch.

Beverly Hills is a great place to visit. Go shopping or window shopping at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Channel, Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Gearys, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Lalique, Tiffany & Co, Robert Clergerie, Barneys New York, Van Cleef & Arpels, La Perla, Hermes, Alfred Dunhill, St. John, Harry Winston, Buccellati, Cole-Haan, David Orgell, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hugo Boss, Fendi or dozens of other luxury boutiques, stores and shops.

If you are into luxury cars, you can find almost every type of luxury and classic car there is on the streets and at the dealerships in Beverly Hills.

If you can afford it stay in a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel and be treated like a king or queen. There are also the Le Meridien, Four Seasons, Regent Beverly Wilshire, The Beverly Hilton, Raffles L’Ermitage Beverly Hills hotels as well as several other great hotels.

Have breakfast or lunch and see the stars at the Polo Lounge, eat at Trader Vics, Spagos, Il Fornaio, La Scala, Delmonicos Lobster House, Regent Beverly Wilshire, Benihana, Houston’s and other fine restaurants. All of them provide excellent service and delicious fare.

All of the businesses and merchants in Beverly Hills are used to serving wealthy and discriminating clientel, therefore almost anywhere you go you will be treated with service that is far above average. Unlike the scenes in the movie Pretty Woman I have never run in to rude or snooty sales clerks. Everywhere I have shopped, stayed or dined in Beverly Hills I have been treated very well. Money is money and it seems that the merchants believe that if you can afford to buy their goods or services you are more than welcome in their establishment. Since nowadays it is hard to tell by looks who has money and who doesn’t it’s easier and safer for the merchants to treat everyone as if they are wealthy.

Drive through the residential areas of Beverly Hills. You will find houses and mansions of all architectural styles and sizes beautifuly landscaped with dark green lawns, sculpted hedges, fountains and gorgeous gardens. Even the streets are clean and well tended.

Visit Beverly Hills, if you are rich you will feel right at home and if you are not you will probably, at least for a while, feel like you are.

By the way, even though the city is filled with luxury hotels, shops and restaurants, since not everyone who lives, visits or works in Beverly Hills is rich, there are still plenty of medium to inexpensively priced hotels, shops, restaurants, coffee shops and fast food places.

Experience life in the most glamorous Southern California neighborhood when you vacation in sunny Los Angeles. Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills is a famous Beverly Hills hotel located within walking distance of Rodeo Drive, and a short distance from other LA hot spots including the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Beverly Center, Hollywood Bowl, and sun-drenched beaches. This full-service hotel offers newly renovated accommodations beautifully appointed with stylish furnishings. Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills also features flexible meeting and event space, catering service, onsite dining, and recreational amenities including a 24-hour fitness center and heated swimming pool. Looking for great deals for your California vacation? Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills offers an impressive list of vacation packages and the best online room rates guaranteed.

Business trips are different to holidays in many ways, so if you’re going for a large conference or a small meeting, you need to think differently. Below are some tips for planning your flights so you will be prepared for any and all encounters before the big meeting. Most business expenses can be recouped by the business or through tax, but don’t let this fool you into thinking that you can travel however you want. Most business’s have a limit to how much they will give back, so think twice before booking a first class seat to your destination; you may have to pay the entire thing yourself.

Some business trips can be called off at the last minute due to cold feet or other issues arising, so book a ticket that can be refunded. These usually cost more, but the entire amount will be given back if you need to change it to a different time or to cancel it. Booking a ticket that can be changed will also be beneficial if the one hour meeting turns into a two day event. You can save money by flying in hours before the scheduled meeting and leaving hours later, so you don’t have to postpone a flight if the meeting runs over time. It used to be that business people would book a hotel room to store their luggage and freshen up before the meeting, but most major airlines now have business class rooms complete with Wi-Fi, showers and buffet food, so you can relax there before the meeting.

Eco tourism has developed within the last 20 years. Issues like global warming and endangered species have put our ecosystem under threat. This has led the nature lovers to come together to preserve and conserve the environment that we live in. Companies organizing holidays are concerned that their vacation tours are posing a harmful impact on the nature. Tourists are encouraged to keep a check on the effects their holidays have on the environment and the local people of the area as well. In simple words, having a sense of responsibility towards the environment while we travel is Eco tourism. Sense of responsibility is playing your role in conserving the environment and maintaining the well being of those who live in the area in question. It is all about exploring nature while keeping its natural beauty intact.

An Eco tourism holiday can be a walking holiday, an animal conservation holiday, a desert tour and more. When one is on an Eco tourism holiday they should take a step forward to preserve the environment and acknowledge the local cultures and customs. While on a holiday you may be staying in in a house built with both local and natural materials by the local people so the jobs are supported by the townsfolk. There are many hotels and agencies who offer comfortable Eco tourism holiday packages. Every traveler should respect the country they are traveling and staying in. Many resort hotels who support Eco tourism have cost cutting facilities like using energy saving devices, such as automatic lights and water saving measures that keep costs low. Another major trend in hotels worldwide is that there is a set time period for washing laundry or unless the customer requests a wash done if needed.

Eco tourism also includes relief measures like rehabilitation activities after a natural disaster or helping neighborhoods with conservation projects. Some travel foundations also encourage tourists to purchase local food and products which in turn will help the local people to earn a decent living. Some examples of the wide array of choice are: There are several countries who provide Eco tourism holiday packages. An Australian company offers wildlife adventures and courses in Australia and South Africa. It caters for outdoors, nature, wild life and conservation of the environment. An organisation in the UK Specializes in Safari Field Guide Training and Wildlife Courses in Africa. Ecology expeditions is based in UK and offers adventure learning expeditions and professional development adventure courses. A Brazil based company, offer rafting expeditions, surfing schools, trekking, diving, windsurfing for individuals and small groups in Florianopolis and Santa Catarina.

Perhaps its time for you to do some traveling. If you haven’t done a lot of traveling before, you might benefit from some of the following tips, including how to arrange cheap travel, how to decide where to travel to, where to find travel trailers, and whether or not you need travel insurance for your trip. Commercial airlines have made it possible for people to travel almost anywhere in the world for fairly affordable prices. Of course air travel isn’t cheap, but a six hour flight is certainly faster and more convenient than a thirty day boat ride. Air travel has also broken many barriers and allowed families to live in different countries and still keep in touch. In fact, air travel between countries is so cheap in some parts of the world that it’s often the cheapest way to travel. For instance, one of the cheapest modes of transportation in Europe at the moment is air travel.

No frills airlines offer some very cheap flights if you book them well in advance. Often, you only have to pay the airport fees. Another benefit of air travel is that it’s one of the safest modes of travel. It often seems as if there are more fatalities from plane crashes because plane crashes are so highly publicized, when in fact, you’re far more likely to die in a car accident than a plane crash. If you’re planning a trip, remember that booking air travel tickets well in advance can save you a lot of money. Air travel is also cheaper if you are flexible about your destination.

For example, if you just want a return trip to Europe from Canada, you can often find two-way travel tickets under two hundred dollars. You can also save money on little things, like bringing your own travel headphones instead of buying a set from the airline. If you’re taking a longer air travel trip, you can expect at least one meal and a movie or two during your flight. However, air travel’s not all sunshine and unicorns – if you’ve ever been on an airplane before you know how scary the toilets are. Cheap travel is usually easier if you plan ahead. You can buy travel guides specifically for cheap travel that offer tips on how to save money on everything from flights to bus fares to accommodations, and meals. If you want you can also join a travel club where the prices are cheaper than you would usually find. One club called Travel Ventures International or TVI claims to take pride in its ability to offer the discount travel and weekend packages.

Do you love travelling like a queen, but don’t have the money to do it often? It’s an issue many of us have, because quite simply travelling and staying in nice hotels is expensive. You can do it on a shoestring if you’re willing to head out with a backpack and nothing else, staying in hostels or on friends’ couches, and you can have an amazing experience that way. Let’s face it, though, we all like a bit of luxury and pampering. Here are five tips to help you get luxury on a budget while travelling.

Sure, you’re taking a bit of a risk. The rainy season can be, well, rainy. But most places are gorgeous year-round and hotels will be looking to fill their rooms with discounts and upgrades, especially if you’re going on a special trip like a honeymoon or a wedding abroad. If you’re trying to save money, make a budget and stick closely to it. Figure out how much you’re willing to pay for everything and don’t dismiss opportunities out of hand. Look for ways to cut corners, like on food spending, and use the extra on the parts of your holiday that really matters to you.

Go to an unusual country – there may not be as many hotels to choose from, but you might find that food and activities are cheaper than places which can take advantage of tourists. Many Asian countries, like Bali, are cheaper to visit because of exchange rates. Head slightly further away from the centre of cities or islands. Investigate not only the cost of your resort but the cost of the things you might like to do while you’re away. Plus, see what activities are included with your hotel cost. You might find that you’re getting a lot for a small increase in price. If you were planning on those things anyway, go with it.

Go to a variety of different travel agents and see what they offer you. They are always eager to win your business from one another, so see if any of them can do you a deal. Before getting companies involved, go online and see what you’ll pay if you purchase everything individually, and then use that quote to ask agents what they’d plan on charging you. Go last minute. It can be risky, but if you go check out the last minute deals you’ll find that they can be substantially cheaper than ordinary travel packages. Even better if you can go all-inclusive on something like a cruise – they’ll be losing money if they sail with empty berths, so you may just get an absolute bargain. Booking a week and a bit off and then taking a chance at the travel agents’ definitely means you’re taking a chance, but it can pay off in a big way.

Choosing the right souvenirs is not always easy when traveling to another region or another country. While you will pass by many gift shops, duty free shops, and travel shops, you probably won’t buy anything until you are ready to come home. By then you will be tired and not in the mood for shopping. Buying a few souvenirs such as a mug, keychain, t-shirt, or shot glass that displays where you went on vacation is what most people do because these items are easy to find, inexpensive, and unique to those who will receive them.

Buying souvenirs for other people is a longstanding tradition. While travelers buy travel gifts for themselves, they will usually include a few small items for close friends and family. In addition to stories and pictures, many people like to receive a small gift as a way to appreciate another person’s trip even more. While some people buy items in bulk, some will spend a little time while on holiday to pick out gifts that are more personal in nature. New stationary, a monogrammed shirt, or a collection of postcards are special items that many people do not have at home.

When you want to bring home gifts to loved ones while on vacation, you should make a list so you don’t leave anyone out. This includes family members. Next, ask them what they would like. Most people are not picky, they usually want small items that don’t cost too much. Write these ideas next to their names so you won’t forget. Depending on how long you will be traveling and where you will be traveling, you may need to wait until the end of your vacation. Some countries are particular about what you can take in and out of their countries, so be sure to have an understanding of the rules before buying any gifts.

If you have time to shop for individual gifts, don’t forget to buy something for yourself. Forgetting to buy an item that you can cherish while on vacation can be frustrating. Put yourself on your list if you think you will forget. Once you know what to buy, find small shops and make your purchases. Small shops are usually less expensive and you have a better chance of finding items that are rare and unique.
